Terms & Refund Policy
By submitting an application to YIMUN 2026 and (if accepted) completing payment, you agree to the terms below. These are intentionally short and written in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to info@youthimpacts.com.
1. The contract
A binding contract is formed when Youth Impacts confirms your reservation by successful payment of a delegate fee following an admissions offer. The contract is between Youth Impacts International (the "organiser") and the named delegate (the "delegate"). For delegates under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on the delegate's behalf.
2. Packages
| Package | Price (USD) | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Conference Only | $499 | Three-day conference at Hofstra University, UN Headquarters visit, certificate |
| Accommodation Package | $999 | Above + on-campus accommodation (3 nights) + welcome dinner + breakfast |
| Full Experience | $1,499 | Above + all meals + extended UN programme + premium delegate kit |
| NY Trip Experience | $2,600 | Above + 6-day NYC accommodation + airport transfers + cultural tour |
3. Refund schedule
| If you cancel… | You receive |
|---|---|
| Within 14 days of payment (UK/EU cooling-off) | 100% refund, no questions |
| 15–60 days before the conference (i.e. before 15 June 2026) | 75% refund |
| 14–59 days before the conference (i.e. 15 June–31 July 2026) | 50% refund |
| 13 days or fewer before the conference | No refund except documented exceptional circumstances (medical, bereavement, visa refusal — see section 4) |
Refund requests must be made by email to info@youthimpacts.com. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe within 5–10 business days.
4. Exceptional circumstances
If you must cancel within 13 days of the conference due to documented illness, bereavement of an immediate family member, or visa refusal, we will refund 75% of your fee on presentation of supporting documentation. Decisions are made at our reasonable discretion.
5. If we cancel
If Youth Impacts cancels or substantially changes the dates of YIMUN 2026 for reasons within our control, you receive a full refund. If cancellation is due to events outside our reasonable control (extreme weather, public-health restrictions, venue unavailability), we will offer the choice of (a) a full refund of fees paid to us, or (b) a credit valid for the next YIMUN edition. We are not liable for incidental costs (flights, separately-booked hotels, visa fees).
6. Travel, visas, insurance
Delegates are responsible for their own visas, travel, and personal insurance. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation. We will issue a letter of invitation for visa applications upon written request after payment is confirmed.
7. Code of conduct
Delegates are expected to behave respectfully toward fellow delegates, faculty, and venue staff. Discrimination, harassment, intoxication during sessions, and unauthorised press are grounds for immediate removal from the conference without refund.
8. Photography & media
By attending, you grant Youth Impacts the right to take and use photographs and video of the conference for promotional purposes. If you wish to opt out, notify us at registration and we will make reasonable efforts to exclude you from published material.
9. Limitation of liability
Our liability for any single claim is limited to the fee you paid. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud — as required by applicable law.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. For consumers ordinarily resident in the UK or EU, mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country still apply.
11. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects rights you have already paid for, we will email you and offer a refund window if you do not accept the changes.
